Ingredients

  1. 1 Kg LULIK’S Spelt Flour,
  2. 2 Oz. Yeast
  3. 1 Tbsp. Sugar,
  4. 350g (2 & ¼ cups) warm water
  5. 3 Eggs,
  6. 4 Oz. melted Margarine,
  7. 3 Tsp. Salt,
  8. 3 Tbsp. liqueur (to your taste),
  9. 1 x 5 Oz. cup Sugar,

Directions

  • Combine yeast & the Tbsp. Sugar in the warm water, set aside until yeast activates, (about 3 minutes).
  • In a separate bowl, combine rest of ingredients, mix for 3 minutes,
  • Add yeast & mix, set aside to rise for 1 Hour,
  • Divide dough in half, spread oil on surface & roll out dough to 1 inch thickness,,
  • Cut circles using rim of a glass mug, prepare circles on a baking tray ready to fry, repeat with second half of dough,
  • Heat oil in a pot on a medium flame until very hot, deep fry circles on one side for 2 minutes, turn over & fry for 1 ½ minutes,(until golden brown,
  • Remove doughnuts & place on paper towels to drain excess oil,
  • Roll in a bowl of caster sugar,,
